FlashAid - screen reader detection
Over at OSFlash they’ve released a tool which aids in the detection of a screen reader (before throwing them tons of AJAX or incompatible Flash). After a quick squint at the code it seems they’ve accounted for Flash not returning correct values for screen reader presence until a few seconds have elapsed, so it looks […]
Vista and the Flash plug-in
It sounds like Flash may not work 100% as expected in Windows Vista unless a user’s using the latest version of the plug-in (9,0,28):
Senior Product Manager for Adobe Flash Player

A couple of really helpful resources I’ve found on the net recently on osflash.org and documentation for xfactorstudio’s XPath API.
Flash video encoder can’t encode 16:9
That’s been my experience. It also says so here. You’d think 16:9 video would be a basic requirement!
God Of War 2
It looks like the sequel to God Of War is excellent. Along with Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube, the first GOW game was one of the best games I’ve played in the past few years on home consoles, so definately buying this on release.
3D in Flash 9
Papervision3D’s 3D stuff in Flash 9 shows just what the latest version of the plug-in is capable of. This panorama is especially impressive viewed full-screen (click icon at the bottom-right of the screen).
